Three days after being released from prison in the Mut district of Mersin, drug addict Hüseyin Ateş (20) was arrested for killing his grandmother Gülizar (70) and grandfather Hüseyin Ateş (74) by slitting their throats with a knife. In his statement, Ateş reportedly said, "I carry the soul of my deceased father. I killed them, I feel relieved."
HE KILLED HIS GRANDMOTHER AND GRANDFATHER The incident occurred yesterday around 11:00 AM at a house on Yokuşlu Street in the Kültür neighborhood. A dispute broke out for an unknown reason between drug addict Hüseyin Ateş and his grandmother Gülizar Ateş and grandfather Hüseyin Ateş, with whom he was staying. The argument quickly escalated into a fight. Ateş slit the throats of his grandmother and grandfather with a knife and fled. Neighbors who heard the commotion reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Health, police, and fire teams were dispatched to the area upon the notification. The teams determined that the Ateş couple had lost their lives. The lifeless bodies of Gülizar and Hüseyin Ateş were taken to the morgue for autopsy.
Police initiated an investigation into the incident and captured Hüseyin Ateş one kilometer away from the house he fled. It was noted that Hüseyin Ateş had been released from prison three days before the incident and that his father M.A. had died from counterfeit alcohol four years ago.

After his procedures, he was referred to the courthouse. During his transfer, Ateş also told the press members who were filming him, "All those who betray me will die."
