Posts by the group 'Chakma', which describes itself as 'Turkey's first transgender girl group', have drawn public backlash. The Istanbul Police Department launched an investigation into the group's post targeting children. It was determined that the post was made by a suspect located abroad, and legal proceedings were initiated against the individual on charges of 'inciting the public to hatred or hostility, or demeaning'. The Ministry of Family and Social Services also announced that a criminal complaint was filed with the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

STATEMENTS TARGETING CHILDREN SPARK REACTION
In a video published on social media by the group, remarks aimed at young children drew backlash.
In the video, the person speaking on behalf of the group is seen saying, "We will set an example for this country's little trans children." The same statement also included remarks about children being able to choose their genders and not having to live with a gender they believe is imposed on them.
In the video, where the group also stated they would organize musical works and various performances, it was mentioned that the concerts would be intended for adults.
In a video shared on social media, the group's goals were described as follows: "We will set an example for this country's little trans children; we will show them how they can choose their genders and that they don't have to live with the gender imposed on them. Our concerts will cater to the age group from +18 to +36, and we will put on shows that Turkey has never seen before."
POLICE LAUNCH INVESTIGATION
After the posts became a topic of discussion on social media, teams from the Istanbul Police Department initiated an investigation. As part of the review conducted, it was determined that the person who made these statements was S.C. (26).
During the police investigation, it was found that S.C. was located outside Turkey. In a statement from the Istanbul Police Department, it was reported that legal proceedings have been initiated against the suspect for the crime of 'provoking the public to hatred or hostility, or demeaning them.'
