The premium debts in the General Health Insurance, which millions of citizens have been waiting for, have been included in the scope of the amnesty. With the bill that was accepted and enacted in the Parliament, the GSS debts prior to January 1, 2015, have been erased.
The bill regarding the regulations related to civil servants, which includes amendments to the Civil Servants Law and certain laws and decrees, has been accepted by the Grand National Assembly of Turkey and has become law.
GSS DEBTS BEFORE JANUARY 1, 2015 HAVE BEEN WAIVED
In order to alleviate the public debt burdens of insured individuals who are unable to pay their GSS premium debts and to facilitate their access to healthcare services, a regulation has been made. According to the provision, all unpaid GSS premiums, as well as ancillary receivables such as late fees and late interest, that are due before January 1, 2015, will not be collected. Premiums paid for the relevant periods until the date of publication of the provision will not be refunded or offset.
