The note "Bought with haram money" left on vehicles parked in front of the CHP headquarters caused a crisis within the party. After it was revealed that the vehicles had been used by Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu in the past, a heated argument broke out in the WhatsApp group of CHP deputies. When the polemic between Mahmut Tanal and figures close to Kılıçdaroğlu turned into swearing, the group was closed to comments.
The tension in CHP after the “absolute nullity” decision is growing every day. The latest crisis erupted due to two luxury cars parked in front of the CHP headquarters.
While a note saying “Purchased with illicit money” left on the vehicles sparked a major debate within the party, a harsh polemic ensued among CHP members of parliament.
LUXURY CARS PARKED IN FRONT OF HEADQUARTERS
A note reading “Purchased with illicit money” was left on two luxury cars brought to the front of the CHP headquarters. It was observed that the license plate of one car bore the name of crime organization leader Aziz İhsan Aktaş, and the other bore the name of arrested Uşak Mayor Özkan Yalım.
The incident quickly caused a great stir within the party.
“SYMBOLIC” STATEMENT CAME
According to the news in Sözcü, after it emerged that the cars were purchased from an automobile dealer with CHP’s money and that one of the cars was previously used as Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu’s official vehicle, Kılıçdaroğlu’s press advisor Atakan Sönmez made a statement.
Sönmez said that the vehicles in question were placed in front of the CHP headquarters as a “symbolic” act.
MAHMUT TANAL RESPONDED VERY HARSHLY
Following these developments, tensions rose in the CHP’s parliamentary WhatsApp group. It was claimed that CHP Şanlıurfa MP Mahmut Tanal used harsh expressions targeting Kılıçdaroğlu and his team within the group.
Tanal’s messages were responded to by CHP İzmir MP Mahir Polat and some MPs close to Kılıçdaroğlu.
DEBATE TURNED INTO CURSING
According to claims, the argument between the parties quickly escalated into mutual cursing. It was learned that after the tension spiraled out of control, the WhatsApp group involving CHP MPs was closed for comments.
TWO SEPARATE GROUPS FORMED IN CHP
It was reported that after the crisis, both figures close to Özgür Özel and MPs supporting Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu established separate WhatsApp groups among themselves.
In party circles, it is being commented that the division within CHP is now directly reflected in communication among MPs.
TENSION INCREASED AFTER KILIÇDAROĞLU’S STATEMENT
Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu’s statement yesterday that the congress could only be held after the Court of Cassation’s appeal review further inflamed the debates within the party.
It is assessed that the leadership crisis that began in CHP after the “absolute nullity” decision and the mutual statements may become even harsher in the coming days.
