Following the overthrow of Bashar al-Assad's regime, high-level contacts between the new government in Syria and Turkey have intensified; the head of the National Intelligence Organization, İbrahim Kalın, went to Damascus to meet with the leader of the new administration in Syria, Ahmed Shara.
After the opposition groups led by HTS overthrew the Bashar al-Assad regime in Syria, the new government has taken new steps in many areas, while high-level figures from Turkey are also visiting Syria to strengthen their contacts.

Most recently, the President of the National Intelligence Organization, Ibrahim Kalın, went to Damascus to meet with the leader of the new administration, Ahmed Shara, along with his accompanying delegation.
During the visit in Damascus, it was learned that discussions were held on bilateral relations, terrorism, and reconstruction processes.
WHAT HAPPENED?
After the overthrow of the 61-year Baath regime in Syria, the first high-level visit from Turkey to the capital Damascus was made by the President of the National Intelligence Organization (MIT), Ibrahim Kalın. Kalın had prayed at the Umayyad Mosque in Damascus.
