According to information obtained from the yellow-blue club, Dzeko, who is with the national team, will not be able to play against the Republic of Cyprus in the 2026 World Cup European Qualifiers due to the fracture in his nose sustained during the match against Romania. The experienced footballer will arrive in Istanbul on Tuesday and will be examined by the club doctors.

Bosnia and Herzegovina's head coach Sergej Barbarez stated in a post-match interview that he did not know the exact condition of Edin Dzeko. Barbarez said, "I think Edin Dzeko has a broken nose. He was not in the locker room. I don't have complete information yet."
