STRAY DOGS ATTACKED PREGNANT WOMAN
The incident occurred yesterday morning in the Mutlu neighborhood of the Mamak district. İpek Kaya, a mother of two, was attacked by stray dogs near her home as she was leaving to go to the hospital. Experiencing moments of fear, Kaya screamed for help from those around her. With the intervention of citizens, the dogs retreated from the area. It was learned that İpek Kaya, who escaped the incident without injury, is 5 months pregnant. Kaya was treated at Ankara Training and Research Hospital due to the risk of miscarriage.
"I STILL CAN'T FORGET IT"
İpek Kaya stated that she has epilepsy and said, "I was going to Ankara Hospital yesterday morning. I had given blood and was going to get the results. As I was about to get on the minibus, the dogs blocked my way, and 20 dogs came at me. I was very scared, I still can't forget it. There is also a danger to my baby, I don't know what will happen," she said.
İpek Kaya's mother-in-law, Nimet Oflaz, said she heard the screams and went outside, stating, "I couldn't see my daughter-in-law. They say she is in the hospital, 'there is a risk of miscarriage.' She has two children. When I saw the video, my hair stood on end. What if my little grandchildren were there, what would have happened?" she said.
"I AM AFRAID TO PASS THROUGH HERE"
Murat Sağlam, who lives in the neighborhood, stated that they are victims due to stray dogs, saying, "We are experiencing very big problems. As adults, we know how to defend ourselves in some way, but believe me, none of the children are in a position to defend themselves. Two years ago, I was attacked by a pit bull here. I was very victimized. It has settled so deeply in my subconscious that even hearing a dog bark makes my hair stand on end. Yesterday, a woman was attacked; if one of the children had been attacked, the result could have been very different. I come home late due to my job. I swear I am afraid to pass through here. We saw in the video that if they hadn't helped that woman, she could have been seriously injured," he said.
