In the Tekman district of Erzurum, wolves that attempted to attack a herd were driven away by Kangal dogs. The incident occurred in the İncesu hamlet, located at the foothills of Palandöken Mountain.
WOLVES DESCENDED TO THE VILLAGE SETTLEMENT
In the hamlet connected to the Geçit Neighborhood, situated in an area at an altitude of 2,366 meters, hungry wolves wanted to attack the cattle in the village settlement. However, the Kangal dogs protecting the herd intervened and prevented the wolves.
"THEY PROTECT OUR HERD"
Animal owner Mustafa Oğuz stated that wolf attacks have been frequent since winter, saying, "Our Kangal dogs have chased away the wolves every time. These dogs are more valuable to me than the cattle. If we sleep peacefully at home, it is thanks to God and these dogs."
NO ANIMAL LOSS OCCURRED
Oğuz expressed that, thanks to the Kangal dogs, there has been no loss of any animal in the herd to date.
