An indictment has been prepared for 14 suspects arrested in connection with the terrorist attack on the police checkpoint in front of Yapı Kredi Plaza in Beşiktaş, seeking aggravated life imprisonment and prison sentences ranging up to 37 years.
INVESTIGATION COMPLETED
The investigation launched by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into the terrorist attack on the police checkpoint in front of Yapı Kredi Plaza on Cömert Street in Levent neighborhood has been completed.
PENALTIES SOUGHT FOR 14 SUSPECTS REVEALED
In the prepared indictment, it was requested that the 14 suspects be punished for the crimes of "attempted intentional killing", "attempting to overthrow the constitutional order", "being a member of an armed terrorist organization", and "purchasing, carrying, or possessing unlicensed firearms and ammunition" with aggravated life imprisonment and prison terms ranging from 19 to 37 years.
The indictment has been sent to the Istanbul 26th Heavy Penal Court for evaluation.
