Israel announced that the crisis arising from the failure to release Arbel Yehud in the second round of the prisoner exchange has been resolved and that the army will withdraw towards the buffer zone. On the other hand, a statement made by spokesperson Adraee indicated that Palestinians would be able to move from the south to the north of Gaza starting at 08:00 Turkish time, and that vehicles would be allowed to pass starting at 09:00.
The Israeli army announced that residents of the Gaza Strip would be able to move from south to north at 07:00 local time (08:00 TRT) in the morning.
ARMY SPOKESPERSON ANNOUNCED
Israeli Army Spokesperson Avichay Adraee stated in a post on X that Palestinians would be able to cross from the Netzarim Corridor to the north on foot via al-Rashid Street, located on the western coast of the Gaza Strip.
"THE PRESENCE OF WEAPONS IN VEHICLES WILL BE CONSIDERED A VIOLATION"
Adraee noted that vehicles could proceed to the north of the Gaza Strip after passing through the checkpoint on Salahaddin Street starting from 09:00 local time (10:00 TRT), and that the presence of weapons in vehicles would be considered a violation. He added that it was necessary to stay away from the locations where Israeli soldiers were present and that the Israeli army would withdraw towards the buffer zone.
THE NON-RELEASE OF YEHUD CAUSED TURMOIL
The failure to release Israeli prisoner Arbel Yehud during the second round of the prisoner exchange between Hamas and Israel had caused a crisis. Despite Hamas delivering four Israeli prisoners as part of the second round of the exchange, Israel announced that it would not allow residents of the Gaza Strip to move north, citing the non-release of Yehud, contrary to the ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement provisions. It was reported that negotiations were ongoing for the release of Israeli prisoner Yehud before the third round scheduled for Saturday.
Qatar announced that the crisis arising from the second round of the exchange between Hamas and Israel under the ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement had been resolved. Qatar's Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Majid al-Ansari stated in a post on X that an agreement had been reached between the two parties.
In a statement from the Israeli Prime Minister's Office, it was announced that a new round of prisoner exchange would take place on Thursday, during which Yehud, Agam Berger, and another Israeli prisoner would be released, and that three more Israeli prisoners would be released on Saturday in accordance with the agreement. It was noted that as part of this agreement, residents of the Gaza Strip would be allowed to move from south to north.
