In the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Council, it was unanimously accepted to hold a tender for "2,500 application-based taxis" with a license granted for 29 years, with the conditions modified in accordance with the court decision.
The third session of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Council's April meetings was held at the municipality building in Saraçhane under the chairmanship of the Deputy Chairman of the Council, Gökhan Gümüşdağ.
LICENSES WILL BE VALID FOR 29 YEARS
In the council, the agenda item regarding the tender for 2,500 application-based taxis to be granted a license for 29 years by changing the conditions in accordance with the court decision was discussed.
In the agenda item, it was stated that a decision was made in the IMM Transportation Coordination Center (UKOME) meeting to hold a tender for 2,500 application-based taxis for a period of 29 years, and that this decision was also approved in the IMM Council. It was noted that in the lawsuit filed by the Istanbul Taxi Drivers' Chamber, the court ruled to suspend the execution of the decision.
CONDITIONAL APPROVAL FOR 2,500 TAXIS
In the agenda item, it was requested to make a decision to hold a tender in accordance with Law No. 2886 for the operation of 2,500 taxis, by granting licenses for 29 years to real persons in accordance with the relevant legislation, provided that the provisions that do not contradict the law are applied in accordance with the court decision.
In the vote held in the council, the agenda item regarding the tender for 2,500 application-based taxis to be granted a license for 29 years was unanimously accepted.
