The 2026-2027 judicial year began today. The opening ceremony of the judicial year is being held at the Court of Cassation. The President of the Turkish Bar Association, Erinç Sağkan, spoke. Sağkan said, 'The execution of sentences constitutes a major problem in itself. Without delay, a new execution law should be implemented in line with the fundamental principles and purposes of execution; one that is befitting human dignity, open to effective judicial review, includes a fair review mechanism, and can be applied equally to everyone.'
