The body of Infantry Specialist Sergeant Nurettin Tokyürek (32), who was martyred in the Pençe-Kilit Operation in the Metina Region in 2022, has been found and brought to Erzurum. THE FUNERAL ARRIVED IN ERZURUM YESTERDAY
The body of Tokyürek was brought to Erzurum yesterday at 21:45 by the Turkish Stars aircraft of the Turkish Air Force from Istanbul. The welcoming ceremony held for Tokyürek, who was martyred about 3 years ago, was attended by Erzurum protocol, military and civil officials, as well as the martyr's father Süleyman, mother Lütfiye Tokyürek, siblings, spouse, and relatives. The martyr's coffin, carried on the shoulders of the honor guard, was taken to the morgue of the City Hospital in the city.
INTENSE PARTICIPATION IN THE CEREMONY
A ceremony was held today at noon at Narmanlı Mosque for Infantry Specialist Nurettin Tokyürek. The ceremony was attended by protocol, the martyr's relatives, and many people. The family, who cried while embracing the martyr's coffin wrapped in the Turkish flag, was calmed down with difficulty by the officials. During the ceremony held under snowfall, Tokyürek's wish, 'If I become a martyr, bury me in a beautiful place in our village,' was fulfilled.
BURIED IN SIGIRLI VILLAGE WITH TEARS
Tokyürek was buried in Sığırlı village with tears, as he had written to his brother Yusuf via mobile phone just one day before he became a martyr, and as he mentioned in his last message. In his message, the martyr had asked his brother to take good care of his wife, Gözde.
