Hüseyin Arda Şark (19), Mustafa Zeybek (27), and Nazmi Çetin (20), who are being tried in custody for the death of Hiranur Aygar (16), who was shot in the head with a gun in a car in Mersin, appeared before the judge. The witness M.E., who last saw Hiranur on the day of the incident, said, "I came to the kiosk in the evening. When I came out 2-3 minutes later, they were gone. I didn't hear a gunshot. I saw Hiranur when I entered the market. She was sitting in the back seat, and her face was smiling."
The incident occurred on the night of August 31 last year in the Toroslar district. Hiranur Aygar was taken to Mersin City Hospital severely injured after being shot in the head with a gun. Hiranur's boyfriend, Hüseyin Arda Şark, stated in his testimony to the hospital police, "Hira has been my girlfriend for about 2 months. We had gone to a military entertainment together. During this time, I fired the gun I had next to me into the air. On the way back, we stopped at a market on Sebahattin Çakmakoğlu Street in Akbelen neighborhood with my friends Nazmi Çetin and Mustafa Zeybek. We got out of the car. At that moment, Hira, who remained in the car, took the gun and shot herself in the head," he said.
HE CHANGED HIS STATEMENT; HE SHOT WHILE JOKING
Following the contradictory statements of Zeybek and Çetin, the Homicide Bureau Chief's team initiated an investigation and detained the three suspects. In his second statement, suspect Şark said that he pointed the empty gun at his girlfriend's forehead as a joke and pulled the trigger, and that they did not go to the hospital immediately after the incident, but first left Hiranur Aygar in a wooded area and then picked her up again to take her to the hospital. Blood traces were found during the search conducted by the teams at the specified location. After the autopsy procedures, Hiranur Aygar's body, taken by her relatives, was buried. The three suspects were arrested by the court they were brought before.
INDICTMENT PREPARED
The indictment prepared by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against the defendants was accepted by the Mersin 5th High Criminal Court. In the indictment, it was requested that suspect Şark be punished for 'intentional killing of a child' and 'possession of an unlicensed firearm', while Nazmi Çetin and Mustafa Zeybek were requested to be punished for 'destroying, concealing, or altering evidence of a crime.'
HEARING POSTPONED
The third hearing of the case was held today at the Mersin 5th High Criminal Court. The detained defendants participated in the hearing via the Audio and Visual Information System (SEGBİS) from their prison, while lawyers and Hiranur's parents were present in the courtroom. The hearing continued with the testimonies of witnesses. M.E., who entered the kiosk where the incident occurred at the time of the event, said, "I came to the kiosk in the evening on the day of the incident. They were coming out as I was entering. We met at the door and greeted each other. Then I went inside to shop, and when I came out 2-3 minutes later, they were gone. I didn't hear a gunshot. I saw Hiranur when I entered the market. She was sitting in the back seat, and her face was smiling."
The defendants denied the allegations against them and requested their release. The public prosecutor requested additional time for the main opinion. The court postponed the hearing to listen to the individuals identified in the HTS records as being in contact with the defendants and to address the deficiencies.
