In the case against the woman who is accused of running over her 12-year-old son with her car following a fight in Bolu, her lawyer stated, "My client's mental health has deteriorated. She has suffered greatly. She can no longer even go shopping with her children. We request the removal of her house arrest." The court decided to continue the woman's house arrest and postponed the hearing.

On August 11, in the Kitirler neighborhood of the Gerede district in Bolu, a woman named G.M.U. ran over 12-year-old S.E.Y., who was riding a bicycle with a friend on Belkıs Sabancı Street, with her car. S.E.Y., who was pulled out from under the car, was taken to the hospital by ambulance after the first intervention of the medical teams.

RUN OVER THE CHILD WHO FOUGHT WITH HER SON

It was learned that S.E.Y. was friends with G.M.U.'s son, and that a fight occurred between the children, which led the woman to carry out the incident. Shortly after the incident, G.M.U., who was detained and brought to court after her statement, was sentenced to house arrest by the court she was brought before. After the footage of G.M.U. running over the child became a hot topic on social media, her house arrest was converted to imprisonment, and G.M.U. was taken from her home to prison. After a while, this decision was changed back to house arrest.

"MY CLIENT'S PSYCHOLOGY HAS BEEN DISTURBED, SHE HAS BECOME A VICTIM"

In the indictment prepared by the Gerede Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the incident, it was requested that G.M.U. be sentenced to up to 20 years in prison for the crime of "attempting to intentionally kill a child who cannot defend themselves." During the hearing of the case at the Bolu 1st High Criminal Court, the defendant G.M.U. and the lawyers of the parties were present. In her defense, G.M.U.'s lawyer, Yusuf Renkli, stated that her psychology had deteriorated, saying, "My client's psychology has been disturbed. She has become a victim. She can no longer even go shopping with her children. We request the removal of the house arrest."

HEARING ADJOURNED

The court panel decided to wait for the report from the Forensic Medicine Institution and to continue the house arrest sentence, and adjourned the hearing.
