After years of competing in the Super League, Denizlispor, which reached the last 16 of the UEFA Cup in the 2002-2003 season but is now competing in the TFF Nesine 3rd League Group 4, held an emergency board meeting following the resignation of President Mehmet Uğur Tatar and decided to hold an extraordinary congress.
LEGENDARY CLUB CANNOT FIND A PRESIDENT
The club will hold a new congress on February 18, 2025, and if a sufficient majority is not achieved, the congress will be held again on February 25. The location and time of the congress have not yet been determined, but this will be the fifth congress that Denizlispor will hold within a year. The decision for the congress was made during the board meeting held last night, and the date was set for February 18. New appointments were made in the board, and substitute members were brought in to replace the resigning members.
CONGRESS DECISION MADE IN 11 DAYS
After the congress held in May 2024, Denizlispor elected Ahmet Yalın Yıldırım as president. However, due to resignations from the management, a new congress decision was made 11 days later. In the congress held again in June 2024, Yıldırım was re-elected as president. However, the season continued with a new congress decision after the defeat against Turgutluspor on September 7, and Yıldırım announced that he would not run for election. As the management could not be elected, the club entered a trustee process, and another congress decision was made. Mehmet Uğur Tatar became president by taking the club keys handed over to the municipality and the governorship. However, just about 10 days into his presidency, the club decided to hold another congress.
