Idil Keten, who was preparing for her wedding in Istanbul's Zeytinburnu district, became a victim after receiving a botox procedure at the home of a person claiming to be a general practitioner in Russia. Due to the drug being injected into the wrong muscle, her left eyelid drooped, and after learning the condition would not improve for six months, Keten said she came to the point of canceling her wedding and filed a complaint against the fake doctor.
Idil Keten, who was preparing for her wedding in Istanbul's Zeytinburnu district, experienced a nightmare after receiving a botox procedure at the home of a person claiming to be a general practitioner in Russia. Due to an injection into the wrong muscle, her left eyelid drooped, and she learned this condition would not improve for 6 months. The unfortunate woman stated that she nearly canceled her wedding and filed a complaint.
The incident occurred on May 13 at a housing estate in Zeytinburnu's Sumer neighborhood. Having previously trusted the same person for lip filler at her home in Zeytinburnu, Idil Keten underwent a botox procedure. When Keten asked why K.M.A., who introduced herself as a doctor, worked from home instead of a clinic, Keten reported receiving the reply, "I'm a general practitioner in Russia, but I needed to study for two more years to do this legally in Turkey. Since I already knew the work, I didn't see the need to study."
"INJECTED INTO THE WRONG MUSCLE, WON'T RESOLVE FOR 6 MONTHS"
Nine days after the botox procedure, Keten felt heaviness in her left eyelid and noticed her eye was completely closed. She rushed to the hospital. Doctors' examination revealed that the botox medication had been injected into the wrong muscle, and the eyelid drooping would not improve until the medication's effect wore off, meaning at least 6 months.
THE FAKE DOCTOR'S SHAMELESS DEFENSE
After her ordeal, the young woman tried to reach K.M.A. and was shaken by the fake doctor's shameless defense. Describing her experience, Idil Keten said: "When I contacted her, she said in a ridiculous way, 'Your eye might have caught an infection or this condition might be combined with a flu infection. I don't think it's from the botox.' She never apologized, she completely defended herself. After consulting doctors, I learned for certain it was from the botox. I went to the police station and filed a complaint against her; I hope she gets her punishment as soon as possible."
"I HAVE A WEDDING IN 3 MONTHS, IT MAY BE CANCELED"
Suffering great psychological distress due to her facial appearance and initiating legal proceedings, Keten warned citizens against unlicensed procedures and appealed to authorities: "The worst part is, I have a wedding in 3 months. Unfortunately, because of my face's condition, there is a possibility my wedding might be canceled; I can't attend like this. She has harmed us in every way. Please, don't fall for such places and such people and get procedures done. I don't want this to happen to anyone else; I want my grievance to be addressed."
