A heartbreaking update has come about 8-year-old Osman Taş, who went missing on Sunday in the Şemdinli district of Hakkari. Search efforts, initiated after the child was last seen near a stream, involved AFAD, gendarmerie, JAK, and underwater teams. During the operations, supported by villagers, Osman's lifeless body was found in the stream approximately 300 meters from where he went missing.
8-year-old Osman Taş, who went missing on Sunday in the village of Yufkalı in the Şemdinli district of Hakkari, was found dead in a stream.
DISAPPEARED NEAR THE STREAM
Relatives of Osman Taş, last seen near the stream on Sunday morning in the village, began a search with their own means when they could not reach him. When no results were obtained, the situation was reported to the gendarmerie.
TEAMS MOBILIZED
Upon the report, AFAD, fire department, gendarmerie, and health teams were dispatched to the region. A search operation was conducted along the stream for Osman, who was believed to have fallen into the water. The underwater team from the Van Provincial Gendarmerie Command, Gendarmerie Search and Rescue (JAK), police divers, and AFAD underwater teams also joined the efforts. Villagers also supported the search operations.
FOUND 300 METERS AWAY
While the teams continued their work, Osman Taş's lifeless body was found in the stream approximately 300 meters from where he went missing. The body of Osman, a 3rd-grade student, was taken to Şemdinli State Hospital for an autopsy.
