A striking detail of an unbelievable incident in India has emerged. A man, who opened his deceased sister's grave and brought her remains to the bank to withdraw money from her account, was found to have done so for only about 211 dollars.

DONE FOR 20,000 RUPEES

50-year-old Jeetu Munda, residing in Odisha state, reportedly tried to withdraw about 20,000 rupees (211 dollars) from the account of his 56-year-old sister, who died in January. Unable to provide the necessary documents, Munda allegedly opened the grave and brought the remains to the bank.

“THEY TOLD ME TO BRING HER, SO I DID”

Munda claimed he went to the bank multiple times, but officials asked him to bring the account holder. “I said she died, but they didn’t listen. So I opened the grave and brought her bones,” he said.

HE WAS ILLITERATE

Authorities stated that Munda was illiterate and did not understand the legal inheritance process. The bank maintained that the required documents were requested and procedures were followed.

PROBLEM RESOLVED LATER

Following the incident, police and local authorities intervened to complete the withdrawal legally. The sister's remains were reburied. It was reported that no action was taken against Munda.
