The lifeless body of a 14-year-old boy who went missing while swimming in the Meriç River in Edirne has been found; it was reported that the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
In Edirne, two children entered the Meriç River near the Mehmet Müezzinoğlu Bridge to swim. After a while, one of the children was swept away by the water and went missing. The friend next to him informed the surrounding people, and the situation was reported to the 112 Emergency Call Center.
LIFLESS BODY FOUND
Upon the notification, teams from UMKE, AFAD, police, gendarmerie, fire department, and health services were dispatched to the scene. The teams conducted a search operation on the water with a boat. The Edirne Provincial Police Department requested support from the Underwater Group Command of the Tekirdağ Police Department's Maritime Port Branch. Divers from the police, who arrived in Edirne and began their work in the river, soon reached the lifeless body of 14-year-old Ege İshak Karafidan.
