The lifeless body of Musa Pasha, who fell into the river from a bridge with his vehicle during the flood disaster in Hatay, has been found.

Due to heavy rainfall in Hatay, the Karacay River overflowed, causing a bridge to collapse. Two young people were swept away by the current after their vehicles sank into the water, and tragic news arrived. On the second day of search efforts launched by AFAD and underwater search teams, the lifeless body of 19-year-old Deniz Hoşgel was found. On the third day, a citizen pruning olive trees noticed a hand by the water, leading to the discovery of the lifeless body of 20-year-old Musa Paşa.

In the recent flood disaster in Hatay, the overflowing Karaçay River caused the bridge connecting Samandağ and Antakya districts to collapse, and a vehicle traveling on the bridge at that moment plunged into the river. After the body of 19-year-old Deniz Hoşgel, one of the young people swept away by the current, was found, the lifeless body of 20-year-old Musa Paşa was also recovered.

BRIDGE COLLAPSED, TWO YOUNG PEOPLE SWEPT AWAY 

In the tragedy that occurred in the Karaçay neighborhood of Samandağ district, one side of the Karaçay Bridge suddenly collapsed due to the river overflow. At that moment, Musa Paşa and Deniz Hoşgel, who were traveling in their vehicle, fell from the collapsed section into the raging waters and disappeared. Upon notification, numerous AFAD and Hatay Metropolitan Municipality Underwater Search and Rescue teams were dispatched to the area. On the second day of the search efforts, Deniz Hoşgel's lifeless body was found at the point where the Asi River flows into the sea, while the search for Musa Paşa was intensified.

HEARTBREAKING NEWS ON THE THIRD DAY: I SAW A HAND WHILE PRUNING 

On the third day of the search efforts, heartbreaking news came from an olive grove near the river. Serkan Kocaoğlu, who noticed Musa Paşa's lifeless body while pruning in the field, described those moments with these words:

"I was working in my cousin's field, pruning olive trees. Friends from AFAD were also searching around here. While pruning, I saw a hand by the water's edge. At first, I thought it was a mannequin. But when I touched it and realized it was a soft object, I immediately called one of the AFAD team members, and we identified the body."

After the initial examinations at the scene, the lifeless body of 20-year-old Musa Paşa was taken to the hospital morgue.
