In Denizli, the lifeless body of a missing helicopter pilot, who had not been heard from for days, was found in a vehicle that had been reported for a bad smell. The pilot, who told his ex-wife that he would return to Isparta to collect his belongings from Denizli, where he would be working during the fire season, was found dead with a bag over his head. B.K., a 44-year-old helicopter pilot working under the General Directorate of Forestry at the Isparta Forest Regional Directorate, was assigned to the Denizli Forest Regional Directorate for this fire season, just like last year. B.K., who came to Denizli on Thursday, April 11, to make plans, took leave saying he would return to Isparta on Tuesday, April 15, to gather his belongings. After this date, his colleagues did not hear from the helicopter pilot again.
THE MISSING REPORT WAS MADE BY HIS EX-WIFE
On Friday, April 19, around 3:00 PM, A.B., the ex-wife of B.K. who applied to the police station in Isparta, stated that her ex-husband B.K. had gone to work in Denizli as a fire pilot under the General Directorate of Forestry, that they had last spoken on the phone on Tuesday, and that he had said he would return to their home in Isparta before hanging up. She reported that she could not reach her ex-husband afterward, initially noting that the phone rang when she called, but later it was off, which made her worry for his life, leading her to file a missing person report.
LAST ACTIVITY DETECTED IN DENIZLI
With the support of the Isparta Intelligence Branch Directorate, investigations conducted by the Homicide Bureau revealed that the last activity of the missing helicopter pilot B.K. was in Denizli. Following this, necessary notifications were made to the Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau of the Denizli Provincial Police Department. A large-scale search was initiated in Denizli to locate B.K.
BAD SMELL REVEALED A TRAGIC END
Last night, a citizen walking on the sidewalk on Hüseyin Yılmaz Street in the Kınıklı neighborhood of Pamukkale district became suspicious of a bad smell coming from a parked vehicle with the license plate 32 ABE 529, located near the Denizli Forest Regional Directorate, and reported it to the call center. Upon this report, fire, police, and medical teams were dispatched to the area. When the fire crews arrived and opened the closed door, they encountered the lifeless body of a man with a bag over his head. As a result of the investigations by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and the Crime Scene Investigation teams, it was determined that the body belonged to helicopter pilot B.K., who had been missing for four days. After the examinations, the lifeless body of the helicopter pilot was taken to the Morgue of the Forensic Medicine Institution for an autopsy. Initial findings suggest that the pilot may have committed suicide by putting a bag over his head, and the exact cause of death will be determined after the autopsy. The vehicle in which the pilot was found dead was removed from the area with the help of a tow truck.
