HE HAS DEEP WOUNDS ON HIS HEAD AND BODY

Little Osman Can, who was seriously injured with deep wounds on his head and various parts of his body, is still receiving treatment. Doctors providing information about the child's condition stated that he has a serious need for plastic surgery and that treatment is being administered against the risk of rabies.

Neurosurgery Specialist Semih Çelik, who provided information about little Osman Can's condition, said, "Our patient came to us after being attacked by stray animals. His consciousness appears to be good in the CT scans and examinations. Our child is conscious, but he has deep defects on his head and various parts of his body. For this reason, we have placed him under intensive care with our hospital's plastic surgery specialist. First, we will control the infection, and then we will focus on treating his defects. Initially, infection treatment will continue for a few days. After that, we will plan the treatment of the defects on his body together with the plastic surgery specialist. Currently, there is no vital risk, but we will work to further reduce any potential vital risks by administering fluid and supportive treatment. The dogs have torn his scalp, and he has deep defects on his hips, legs, and arms," he said.

"WE TOOK NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS AGAINST RABIES RISK"

Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Specialist Op. Dr. Xudu Xudiyev stated that they will apply tissue repair treatment after the little boy's infection treatments, saying, "In our initial examination, our patient had tissue defects in the back of the skull, forehead, hip area, legs, back, and front torso. The largest of these was the large defect in the back of the skull. These defects cannot be repaired with stitches. For this reason, he was admitted to the intensive care unit. Appropriate treatments have started for the patient. His condition is being closely monitored. We have also taken necessary precautions against the risk of rabies. If our patient's treatment goes well, we will proceed to the tissue repair phase," he said.

"THE DESPERATION OF MY CHILD DOES NOT LEAVE MY MIND"

Grieving mother Dilara Yasılak described those moments with tears, saying, "My child had gone out to play. Within 20-25 minutes, we heard my cousin's screams and when we went outside, we saw my son in the hands of 5 dogs. The surroundings were muddy and snowy, so I couldn't reach him in time. We rushed there, falling and getting up. We took him to the hospital, and then they transferred us to Gaziantep. The doctors say his condition is good. Whoever is responsible for this should face the consequences. No matter who it is, they should pay for this. We have experienced this pain; may no one else experience it. The desperation of my child does not leave my mind; I couldn't take him from their hands," she said. It was reported that little Osman Can's treatment in the hospital will continue in the intensive care unit for a while longer, and the investigation regarding the incident is ongoing.
