In the Çeşme district of İzmir, a man who was fishing in the sea drowned while trying to retrieve his fishing line after it got stuck.

While fishing in the sea in the Çeşme district of İzmir, a man who got his fishing rod stuck entered the water to free it and drowned. The incident occurred in the Pırlanta Beach area of Şehit Mehmet Neighborhood. According to reports, a citizen named Coşkun Z. (59) went to the sea to fish. After his fishing rod got stuck in the water, Coşkun Z. entered the water to retrieve it. Those who saw the man in danger of drowning informed the 112 Emergency Call Center.

HE COULD NOT BE SAVED DESPITE ALL INTERVENTIONS

Upon the notification, the Çeşme Coast Guard teams arrived at the scene. The first intervention was made by the teams to Coşkun Z., who was pulled out of the water. However, despite all the interventions, the unfortunate man could not be saved and lost his life. Coşkun Z.'s body was taken to Çeşme Alper Çizgenakat State Hospital for autopsy. It was learned that an investigation has been initiated regarding the incident.
