Turkish classical music vocalist Gönül Akkor passed away at the age of 82 in a private hospital where she was receiving treatment. The news of Akkor's death was announced by musician and actress Melike Demirağ. In a story shared on her Instagram account, Demirağ wrote, "My dear Gönül Akkor has left this world." Born on February 4, 1942, in Istanbul, Gönül Akkor quickly gained a large fan base in both the classical music and popular music worlds during her musical journey, which began as an intern at Ankara Radio. Akkor, who garnered great interest with her records, also worked in the pop music field alongside the fame she achieved in Turkish classical music.
