The Provincial Chairman of the New Welfare Party in Yozgat, Süleyman Adıgüzel, announced that a decision has been made for the definitive expulsion of Kadışehri Mayor Davut Karadavut from the party. Mayor Karadavut stated that he was expelled for this reason, as he has "joined the AK Party."

Renewed Welfare Party Yozgat Provincial Chairman Süleyman Adıgüzel announced that Davut Karadavut, who participated in the March 31 Local Government Elections under the logo of the Renewed Welfare Party, was expelled as a result of the investigations, findings, and evaluations made.

Adıgüzel stated that the Mayor Karadavut, who was accused of "making statements and publishing without the knowledge and permission of the authorized bodies, exhibiting disruptive attitudes and behaviors that undermine the harmony and cooperation among party ranks, failing to properly fulfill and neglecting the duties assigned by the authorized bodies, and not meeting the conditions specified in Article 8 of the party's bylaws," acted contrary to the party's bylaws and party policies.

Adıgüzel, who reported that Karadavut did not comply with the decisions of the party's disciplinary board, noted the following:

"It has been established that he did not attend provincial and district organization meetings without an excuse and exhibited attitudes and behaviors contrary to the principles and fundamentals of National Vision municipalism and ethical municipalism; therefore, it has been decided to expel Davut Karadavut from party membership definitively in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Renewed Welfare Party Bylaws. The decision has been made in accordance with the party's bylaws and relevant legal provisions and has been recorded for necessary action."

Kadışehri Mayor Davut Karadavut stated in a statement to ANKA News Agency, "They heard that I joined the AK Party, and they expelled me from the party. I have not received any notification. However, I think they made such a decision because they heard that I joined the AK Party. Would they have made such a decision if I hadn't joined the AK Party?"

Davut Karadavut, who was elected as the Mayor of Kadışehri from the Renewed Welfare Party in the last local government elections, had been elected mayor twice from the AK Party in 2009 and 2014. Before the 2019 local elections, Karadavut resigned from his party and became a candidate for mayor from the BBP but did not win; in the last local elections, he was nominated from the Renewed Welfare Party and was elected mayor.
