Teams entering the apartment on the top floor of a 5-story building in Bağcılar, Istanbul, encountered the lifeless bodies of 3 individuals, while 1 person was found to be seriously injured. Investigations suggested that all 3 individuals may have died from carbon monoxide poisoning.
Three people from the same family in Bağcılar died from carbon monoxide poisoning.
TEAMS ENTERED THE HOUSE AND ENCOUNTERED A STRONG ODOR
According to the information obtained, relatives who had not heard from those living in the apartment for a while reported the situation to the 112 Call Center. Upon the notification, police, health, and fire teams were dispatched to the house. As the door did not open, the fire teams entered the apartment from the balcony. It was observed that there was a strong odor inside the apartment and a pot of food was found on the stove.
THEY WERE FOUND UNRESPONSIVE
During the checks conducted by the teams, it was observed that Fatema Jabara was lying in the bedroom, Zehra Malay in the living room, and Gülbahar Malay and Abdulaziz Malay were lying motionless.
3 PEOPLE DIED AT THE SCENE
Health teams determined that Zehra Malay, Abdulaziz Malay, and Fatema Jabara had died, while Gülbahar Malay was seriously injured. The bodies were taken to the Forensic Medicine Institution for examination. Investigations are ongoing.
