In Ankara, a scuffle occurred between Altındağ Mayor Veysel Tiryaki and workers who are members of the Hizmet-İş Union, affiliated with Hak-İş, who were dismissed from their jobs at the municipality. Tiryaki was seen punching the union president while asking the workers to remove the protest tent they had set up next to the municipal building.
On March 26, 46 workers who are members of the Hizmet-İş Union affiliated with Hak-İş and working at the Altındağ Municipality in Ankara were dismissed following a strike decision due to a disagreement in the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) negotiations. The dismissed workers set up a resistance tent next to the municipality building to protest and began their action.
SCUFFLE OCCURRED WHEN TRYING TO INTERVENE IN THE TENT Today, Altındağ Mayor Veysel Tiryaki visited the protesting workers while he was on his way to Friday prayers. A verbal argument occurred between Tiryaki, who warned about the removal of the tent, and the workers. After the argument escalated, a scuffle broke out when Tiryaki and the municipal officials accompanying him tried to intervene in the tent.
