The cool and rainy weather will continue to affect the country, and on Friday, snowfall is expected in some regions of Central Anatolia and the Western Black Sea, particularly in Ankara.
The Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change's Meteorology General Directorate Weather Forecast Specialist Abdullah Macit provided information about the weekly weather forecast.
According to the latest assessments, Macit stated that the cool and rainy weather affecting the country will continue, and the rains are expected to last until Saturday.
TEMPERATURES WILL RISE STARTING FROM MONDAY
Macit said, "We expect the rains to be seen tomorrow in the eastern part of Central Anatolia and the northern part of Eastern Anatolia, and on Friday, in the inner Aegean, Central Anatolia, the inner parts of the Black Sea, and the northern part of Eastern Anatolia in the form of mixed rain and snow."
Stating that air temperatures across the country will continue to remain below seasonal norms, Macit noted, "We do not expect any increase in temperatures until the beginning of next week; the western parts of the country will start to warm up from Monday."
TEMPERATURES WILL FALL BELOW ZERO
Macit reported that strong winds from southern directions will start from tomorrow, warning citizens living in Eastern Anatolia and Southeastern Anatolia about wind and dust transport.
Emphasizing that snow is expected in the entire Central Anatolia region, especially in Ankara, and in the inner parts of the Western Black Sea on Friday, Macit stated that air temperatures in the inner regions could drop below zero.
Macit also drew attention to the possibility of disruptions in transportation in areas where snowfall is expected, reporting that heavy snowfall is anticipated in the Bolu Mountain pass on Friday.
WEATHER CONDITIONS IN 3 METROPOLISES
Abdullah Macit conveyed that snow is expected in Ankara on Friday afternoon with winds blowing from the north, and that temperatures will be between 2 to 3 degrees below zero on Friday and Saturday evenings.
Macit mentioned that heavy rain is expected in Istanbul starting from tomorrow, stating, "In Istanbul, air temperatures will be around 10 to 11 degrees. In Izmir, there will also be occasional heavy rain. The air temperature will be around 17 to 18 degrees."
