Artist Suavi reacted on social media to the attempt by the MHP District Chairmanship to cancel his concert in the Buldan district of Denizli. Reminding of the new process law adopted in the Turkish Grand National Assembly and the efforts of MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli, Suavi gave the message, 'We will be there for friendship and art.'
Prior to the Buldan Culture Festival to be held in Denizli on August 20, the MHP Buldan District Directorate took action and applied to official authorities for the cancellation of artist Suavi's concert. MHP Buldan District Chairman Hamdi Taşdelen, in his statement on his social media account, claimed that the concert created "social sensitivity."
In his statement, Taşdelen said, "It has been evaluated that the Suavi concert, which has drawn public reaction, creates social sensitivity, and necessary initiatives have been initiated by us regarding the cancellation of the concert; the matter has been submitted for official authorities' assessment. Preserving the unity and solidarity of our society, defending respect for our common values, and adhering to the rule of law are our common responsibility."
SUAVI'S REFERENCE TO THE LAW IN PARLIAMENT
Making a statement after the attempt to cancel his concert, Suavi stated that he was being tried to be blocked by being accused of being a "PKK member." In his statement, Suavi drew attention to the latest developments in the process and the laws adopted in Parliament, and reacted to this contradiction with the following words:
"To the authorities and our people... The Buldan MHP District Administration is trying to block my concert at the Buldan Culture Festival on August 20, claiming that I am a PKK member. Look at what happened in the Turkish Grand National Assembly yesterday, and then at this meaningless effort... We will be there, for friendship and art. Best regards."
