During an inspection conducted in the Gökçeada district of Çanakkale, disturbing images emerged showing a meat grinder infested with worms in a delicatessen, highlighting the lack of hygiene in the establishment. The incident, revealed by teams from the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, resulted in an administrative fine of approximately 42,000 TL imposed on the business.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has prepared an official control plan for sales points of high-risk animal products such as meat, chicken, and dairy products operating in 81 provinces between November 19 and December 5. Within the scope of these controls, inspections began in Çanakkale by the Provincial and District Directorates of Agriculture and Forestry as of November 19.

MEAT IN THE DELICATESSEN FOUND TO BE SPOILED

During inspections conducted on November 21 by the Gökçeada District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry at a business selling meat, meat products, and dairy products, it was found that the meat and meat products, milk, and poultry (chicken meat) in a delicatessen store were spoiled due to improper storage conditions, and expired food products were present. It was also determined that the business did not meet general and specific hygiene conditions.

The teams confiscated and destroyed the products that were spoiled and had expired. A total of 840 kilograms of poultry, 1,169 kg of red meat, and 112.5 liters of milk were destroyed.

42 THOUSAND TL FINE IMPOSED

As a result of the inspection conducted at the delicatessen, a total administrative fine of approximately 42 thousand TL was imposed, and the business was shut down and sealed. Additionally, a criminal complaint was filed against the business with the Gökçeada Public Prosecutor's Office by the Gökçeada Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry.
