The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reacting harshly to the Israeli government's unanimous decision to recognize the 1915 events as 'genocide,' emphasized that the Tel Aviv administration, which is being tried for genocide over the massacres in Gaza, is attempting to divert attention, and that the decision reveals the desperation of the Netanyahu government. In a statement from the Ministry, it was said, 'Türkiye will continue to work resolutely to hold the Netanyahu government accountable before the law.'

The Israeli government has unanimously decided to recognize the events of 1915 as 'genocide'.

REQUIRES PARLIAMENTARY APPROVAL

The so-called genocide bill was presented to the cabinet by Foreign Minister Gideon Saar. The decision needs to be approved by the parliament to take effect. Israel's Foreign Ministry described the decision as 'historic', while Minister Saar said, "In my opinion, it is time for Israel, as a Jewish state, to officially recognize this. It is never too late to do the right thing."

STRONG REACTION FROM THE FOREIGN MINISTRY: REVEALS NETANYAHU'S DIFFICULTY

Meanwhile, Ankara issued a very strong reaction to this decision. In a written statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was emphasized that the Israeli administration, which carries out systematic persecution against the Palestinian people in the eyes of the entire world and is being tried at the International Court of Justice for committing genocide against Gazans, is trying to divert attention with this decision.

Stating that this move, which completely ignores legal and historical realities, is a "malicious attempt," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs pointed out that this situation stems from diplomatic desperation. The Ministry stated that this decision openly reveals the deep trouble that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his accomplices, against whom arrest warrants have been issued for crimes committed against Palestinians at the International Criminal Court, have fallen into on the international stage.

"WE WILL CONTINUE TO WORK FOR THE NETANYAHU GOVERNMENT TO FACE JUSTICE"

In the statement, which declared that Turkey's determined stance on the line of truth and justice will continue, the following expressions were included: "Turkey will continue to work resolutely for the end of Israel's expansionist and destabilizing policies in the region and for the Netanyahu government to face justice for the crimes it has committed against civilians, especially the Palestinian people."
