Two sisters, aged around 10, who were in danger of drowning after entering the sea to cool off in the Karataş district of Adana, were saved from drowning thanks to citizens on the beach racing against time.
With the opening of the summer season, the beaches in the Karataş district of Adana became lively, and a heart-stopping drowning danger was experienced. In the incident where seconds were of great importance, the attention and quick intervention of those around prevented a possible disaster.
The incident occurred on the beach at the Çamlık Recreation Area in the Karataş district. According to the information obtained, two girls aged around 10, who entered the sea from the beach to cool off, were caught by a current after a while and began to struggle in the water. Citizens on the beach, noticing the sisters fighting for life and facing drowning danger, rushed to help without looking back.

At that moment, a person on the beach jumped into the sea and reached the point where the children were. The heroic citizen, safely taking the two girls who were facing drowning danger and reported to be sisters, into his arms, managed to quickly swim them to the shore. Other citizens on the beach then consciously provided first medical aid to the children brought to the sand.

After the citizens around reported the situation to the emergency call center, health teams were dispatched to the area in a short time following the notification. The medical personnel arriving at the scene took the two sisters into the ambulance, performed initial checks, and then transferred them to Karataş State Hospital.
