An interesting smuggling attempt was prevented by the Customs Enforcement teams of the Ministry of Trade. During an X-ray scan at the Sarp Customs Gate in Artvin, 910 turtles worth 655 million TL were discovered in a suspicious vehicle.
910 turtles were seized at the Sarp Customs Gate.
A vehicle arriving at the Sarp Customs Area to enter Turkey was found suspicious as part of risk analysis studies and was sent for an x-ray scan. A suspicious density was detected during the x-ray scan.
VALUE 655 MILLION TL
In detailed searches conducted by the Sarp Customs Enforcement Smuggling and Intelligence Directorate teams, 910 turtles valued at 655 million TL were seized while attempting to be smuggled into the country illegally. An investigation has been initiated by the Hopa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the incident.
