The funerals of the 9 people who lost their lives in the school attack that occurred in Kahramanmaraş following Şanlıurfa are being awaited by their families in front of the hospital morgue.
Turkey was shaken by another similar news, this time from Kahramanmaraş, one day after the school attack in Şanlıurfa's Siverek district.
HE RAIDED THE SCHOOL WITH HIS FATHER'S WEAPONS AND SPREAD TERROR
Ayser Çalık Middle School in the Onikişubat district was raided by an 8th-grade student, İ.A.M. The attacker took his father's weapons, who is a retired police officer, and opened fire randomly in two classrooms. In the incident, 9 people lost their lives, and 13 people were injured, 6 of them seriously.
FAMILIES WAIT IN FRONT OF THE MORGUE
The bodies of those who lost their lives were brought to the morgue of Kahramanmaraş Sütçü İmam Medical Faculty Hospital. While examinations by the Republic Prosecutors continue on the bodies, the painful wait of the relatives of the deceased also continues in front of the morgue.
4 MINISTERS VISIT THE INJURED
On the other hand, Minister of Interior Mustafa Çiftçi, Minister of Health Kemal Memişoğlu, Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin, and Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek visited the students injured in the school attack in Kahramanmaraş at the hospital. During the visit, the ministers received information about the injured from the doctors.
"I JUMPED FROM THE WINDOW IN A PANIC"
One of the injured, 5th-grade student F.İ.Ç., described that the attacker entered two classrooms and that they experienced great fear. F.İ.Ç. said, "I jumped from the window in a panic. The assistant principals below caught me. At first, we couldn't understand what was happening. Later, when we saw our friends were injured, everyone panicked and jumped from the window. My leg was broken."
EDUCATION SUSPENDED FOR 2 DAYS
Following the school massacre in Kahramanmaraş, the Minister of Interior, who made a statement in the city, announced that education and instruction in schools in the region were suspended for 2 days, saying, "This incident is an individual event, not terrorism."
