The beloved rapper Sagopa Kajmer's mother, Serpil Özyavuz, who had been battling lung cancer for a long time, passed away.
Sagopa Kajmer, also known as Yunus Özyavuz, is one of Turkey's beloved rap artists who was devastated by the loss of his mother. The famous artist's mother, who had been battling lung cancer for a long time, had been receiving treatment at the hospital. Despite all interventions, 71-year-old Serpil Özyavuz, the mother, could not be saved. After the afternoon prayer in Samsun, Özyavuz will be laid to rest following the prayer at Rasathane Mosque.
WHO IS SAGOPA KAJMER?
Born on August 7, 1978, in Samsun, Sagopa Kajmer started working as a DJ at a local radio station after completing high school education. Kajmer came to Istanbul for university education and graduated from Istanbul University, Faculty of Literature, Department of Persian Language and Literature. In 1998, he formed a rap group called Kuvvetmira and participated in the group under the name Silahsız Kuvvet. He appeared in the underground operation album released by Turkish rap artists in 1999. Initially using the pseudonym Silahsız Kuvvet, the artist later started using the name Sagopa Kajmer and released an album titled Sagopa Kajmer. After this album, he released On Kurşun and Bir Pesimistin Gözyaşları in 2004. Kajmer composed the music for the movie G.O.R.A and on August 11, 2005, he established his own record company, Melankolia Müzik.
