KILLED 6 PEOPLE AND WOUNDED 8 According to information obtained, in the incident that occurred the day before yesterday, Metin Öztürk (37) opened fire with a pistol at a butcher shop and restaurant in Kadelli Neighborhood, Tarsus district, where he had worked about a year ago, killing employees Ahmet Ercan and business owner Sabri Pan. The suspect, who fled the scene in his white car with license plate 01 B 9171, also shot and killed Niğde truck driver Gökay Selfioğlu at a gas station in Yeniköy Neighborhood. Continuing his escape, the suspect shot his ex-wife Arzu Özden, who was walking on the roadside in Darıpınarı Neighborhood, Çamlıyayla district, and killed Abdullah Koca by rolling him with a motorcycle into a ditch in Yeniköy Neighborhood. The suspect, continuing his escape, killed Yusuf Oktay, one of the young shepherds in Karakütük Neighborhood. During his attacks, the suspect also wounded 8 people along the route. The injured were taken to hospitals, primarily Tarsus State Hospital, by ambulances for treatment.
COMMITTED SUICIDE WHEN HE REALIZED HE WOULD BE CAUGHT The suspect, who killed 6 people and wounded 8, was identified in Karakütük Neighborhood Çokak Location during operations by gendarmerie and unmanned aerial vehicles. Cornered by security forces, the suspect committed suicide; his body was sent to the Mersin Forensic Medicine Institute morgue for autopsy.
TREATMENT OF 7 WOUNDED CONTINUES One of the wounded being treated in the hospital was discharged. It was learned that 4 of the wounded continue treatment in the wards of Tarsus State Hospital. The other 3 wounded were reported to be in Toros State, Mersin City, and a private hospital.
