The Central Bank is introducing the new series of 100 TL and 10 TL banknotes into circulation as of today. Compared to the old versions, the only change in the banknotes will be the signatures; they will feature the signature of Central Bank Governor Dr. Fatih Karahan, as well as that of Deputy Governor Prof. Dr. Hatice Karahan. There are no changes in the size and designs of the new series of banknotes.
The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey published its announcement regarding the said change in the Official Gazette. The new banknotes will stand out only with a signature change compared to the old versions.
THE SIGNATURE OF THE DEPUTY WILL ALSO BE INCLUDED
On the new 100 TL banknote, in addition to the signature of the CBRT President Dr. Fatih Karahan, the signature of Deputy President Prof. Dr. Hatice Karahan will also be present. Similarly, the signature of Dr. Fatih Karahan will be found on the VII. series 10 TL banknotes, but the signature of Deputy President Dr. Osman Cevdet Akçay will be valid for the 10 TL banknotes. Apart from these signature changes, no innovation has been made in the design of the banknotes.
THE DESIGN FEATURES OF THE BANKNOTES HAVE NOT CHANGED
The new series of banknotes will be completely the same as the previous series in terms of size, front and back composition, and overall quality and appearance. In other words, the new 100 TL and 10 TL banknotes will circulate in the market in a way that they can be confused with the old banknotes.
OLD AND NEW BANKNOTES WILL CIRCULATE TOGETHER
According to the statement made, the new series of banknotes will be in circulation simultaneously with the old banknotes. This situation will allow citizens to comfortably use both old and new banknotes. The new 100 TL and 10 TL banknotes are expected to circulate smoothly in Turkey's money market.
