The newborn gang has managed to eliminate the 112 system, look how.

19.10.2024 12:11

The gang that caused the deaths of emergency baby patients by transferring them to the neonatal units of private hospitals they had previously agreed upon has also ensured the occupancy of the neonatal intensive care units they took over by circumventing the 112 transfer system. The dialogues among the suspects also reveal how they bypassed the system through the contracts they made.

As details emerge regarding the scandal of the 'Newborn gang' that has taken over Turkey's agenda, the dialogues between the suspects are chilling. In one of the conversations, two suspects explain how they bypassed the 112 system.

In the indictment prepared for 47 suspects, 22 of whom are detained; it was stated that the criminal organization led by Dr. Fırat Sarı was managed by Dr. İlker Gönen and 112 Emergency Call Center ambulance driver Gıyasettin Mert Özdemir. It was also reported that the main purpose of the criminal organization was to ensure the occupancy of the newborn intensive care units they took over by circumventing the 112 dispatch system and to receive payments from SGK at the upper limit by manipulating the patients' steps.

"THEY ARE MARKETING THE PATIENT TO OTHER HOSPITALS"

Journalist Emrullah Erdinç, who shared the dialogues between the suspects, stated, "Actually, the 112 system should arrange patient transfers, but they are explaining how they bypassed that 112 system. They are abducting patients and marketing them to other hospitals."

"IF THE STATE SAW THIS CONTRACT..."

The gang members, who secured the transfer process through the contracts made, thus send the babies to the hospitals they desire. In the dialogues between them, the suspects, who talk about arbitrarily killing babies and mockingly refer to this brutality, say the following about the 112 system:

  • HASAN BASRİ GÖK: This contract is made, you are the director of the medical center or let's say you are a nurse, and it says that patients will go here from now on, they have put it into a contract.

  • MEHTAP SAYAR: Yes, yes, yes, I understand.

  • HASAN BASRİ GÖK: You didn't laugh.

  • MEHTAP SAYAR: ... I must not have understood then, hehehe.

  • HASAN BASRİ GÖK: One hundred twelve, let the state f*** their mothers, if they saw that contract because all of them must be under the supervision of one hundred twelve, I mean this is going into patient abduction marketing, you are abducting patients from one hundred twelve.

SGK: AN INVESTIGATION IS BEING CONDUCTED ON HOSPITALS

On the other hand, SGK made a written statement regarding the "Newborn gang." The statement from SGK is as follows:

"Upon the request of the Büyükçekmece Chief Public Prosecutor's Office dated 24.11.2023, an investigation has been initiated by our institution on the matter that has come to the public's attention as the 'Newborn gang' on 29.11.2023. Necessary investigations regarding hospitals that have SGK contracts among the hospitals being investigated by the prosecutor's office are being meticulously carried out by 3 chief inspectors and 3 inspectors. As the Social Security Institution, we only audit the hospitals we have agreements with in terms of invoices and financial aspects within the framework of our legislation."
