The objection made by the headquarters regarding the "absolute nullity" decision of the Ankara Regional Court of Justice, which annulled the CHP congress, was rejected, while enforcement officers changed course at the last moment and formally notified the decision for Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu to take over the duty; the notification to be made to the CHP Headquarters has been postponed to the next week.
Following the court's annulment of the 38th Ordinary Elective Congress of the Republican People's Party (CHP), a power struggle unfolded, leading to an unprecedented game of notification chess.
The 36th Civil Chamber of the Ankara Regional Court of Appeals rejected the CHP Headquarters' objection petition against the interim suspension of Özgür Özel and his administration, formalizing the emerging dual leadership within the party.
ENFORCEMENT TEAM CHANGES COURSE: NOTIFICATION SERVED TO KILIÇDAROĞLU
After the decision became final, the first destination of the Ankara Enforcement Directorate teams, mobilized to implement the court's ruling, became a matter of curiosity. While everyone expected the enforcement officers to go to the CHP Headquarters where Özgür Özel is located, a surprising last-minute change of course occurred.
The enforcement team abandoned the plan to go to the main opposition party building and headed directly to the working office of former party leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu. The court's decision to annul the congress and transfer the administration was officially served to Kılıçdaroğlu by the enforcement officers.
Onur Üregen, the lawyer for Lütfü Savaş, who filed the initial lawsuit for the annulment of the congress, was also present during the notification. With this official notification, the first stage of the legal procedure was completed.
"HIS TERM HAS BEGUN, HE WILL GO TO HEADQUARTERS"
Speaking after the notification, Kılıçdaroğlu's press advisor Atakan Sönmez emphasized that the process had become official and gave assertive messages. Sönmez stated, "Kılıçdaroğlu will go to the Headquarters. Today's procedure has been completed, his term has begun. From now on, he will work to produce solutions to the country's problems, starting with clean politics regarding the nation's issues." Noting that Kılıçdaroğlu is in consultation with all his friends, Sönmez put an end to the leadership debate by saying, "He is not a party to the tension, and he will not be. There is one CHP, and the current chairman of the CHP is Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu."
PARTY MEMBERS SHUT THE DOOR, NOTIFICATION TO HEADQUARTERS POSTPONED TO NEXT WEEK
In response to the notification served to Kılıçdaroğlu, a temporary breathing space emerged at the CHP Headquarters, where the administration of Özgür Özel, the focus of attention, is located. Gül Çiftci, the Deputy Chairman of the CHP responsible for Election and Party Legal Affairs, stated they would not allow the enforcement team into the party. Subsequently, the doors of the Headquarters building were closed. Following these developments, it was learned that the official notification of "absolute nullity" to be made by the Enforcement Directorate to the CHP Headquarters building has been postponed to next week.
Although this postponement decision buys Özgür Özel and his team a few days to make legal moves, following the official notification served to former party leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and the court's rejection of the objection, the question of who will lead the CHP Headquarters building will be the hottest agenda item next week.
