After the "nullity" debates within the CHP in the Menteşe district of Muğla, the tension spilled into the streets. CHP member Uğur Ürper claimed he was assaulted in the incident in Menteşe and filed a complaint on charges of "intentional injury, threats, and insults." Nail Kızıl, who was removed from his position as the CHP Muğla Provincial Chair yesterday and is named in the incident, denied the allegations and stated that he also filed a complaint.
After discussions within the CHP in Muğla Menteşe regarding 'voidness,' party member Uğur Ürper filed a complaint claiming he was assaulted. Former provincial chairman Nail Kızıl denied the allegations and filed a counter-complaint.
"MOTORCYCLE GROUP ATTACKED" CLAIM
According to information obtained, the incident occurred in the Menteşe district yesterday evening. CHP member Uğur Ürper stated that after dining at a restaurant, he set off home in a commercial taxi. Ürper claimed that during the journey, a group on motorcycles blocked the taxi's path, and he was then pulled from the vehicle and physically assaulted.
Ürper alleged that former CHP Muğla Provincial Chairman Nail Kızıl was also present at the scene and involved in the attack, and he filed a complaint.
FILED A CRIMINAL COMPLAINT
In a written statement after the incident, Uğur Ürper said: "Last evening, after eating at a restaurant, I set off home by commercial taxi. During my journey, a group on motorcycles blocked the taxi I was in. Former provincial chairman Nail Kızıl was personally among this group. I was then physically attacked and assaulted."
Ürper stated that he does not see the incident merely as an attack on himself: "This is an unacceptable act of violence against the rule of law, public order, and social peace."
Ürper noted that after the incident, he went to the hospital and obtained a medical report of the assault, and filed a criminal complaint with authorities: "I will follow this process to the end so that everyone involved in the attack, regardless of who they are, is held accountable before the law."
"I WENT TO SEPARATE THE FIGHT"
Nail Kızıl, denying the allegations, said he went to the scene after a fight was reported.
Kızıl stated: "They called me and said 'youth from the youth branch are fighting.' We went and separated them. We intervened asking 'What are you doing?' I did not kick or beat Uğur. I went to separate the fight. I filed a complaint because false accusations were made against me."
It has been learned that the parties have filed mutual complaints regarding the incident, and police investigations continue.
