The results of the LGS central exam conducted by the Ministry of National Education on June 13 have been announced. While 994,358 students took the exam, 452 students answered all questions correctly and received a full score of 500. In the previous year, 719 students achieved a full score and became LGS champions. The preference process will begin on July 13.
The results of the central exam within the scope of the Transition to High School System (LGS) conducted by the Ministry of National Education on June 13 have been made available for access at "meb.gov.tr".
NEARLY 1 MILLION STUDENTS TOOK THE EXAM
For the "Central Exam for Secondary Education Institutions That Will Admit Students via Exam" conducted within the scope of the 2026 LGS, a total of 1 million 22 thousand 658 students at the 8th grade level applied this year.
994 thousand 358 candidates participated in the exam. The exam participation rate was 97.23%. The exam, held in two sessions, was administered in 4,244 schools across 81 provinces and 920 districts within the country, and in 8 countries and 11 exam centers abroad.

According to the results of the central exam, which included a total of 90 questions—50 in the verbal section and 40 in the numerical section—452 students who answered all questions correctly received a full score of 500.

Last year, exactly 719 students achieved a full score by answering all questions correctly in the LGS. This year, the number of students taking the exam being lower compared to the previous year drew attention.
WHEN DOES THE PREFERENCE PROCESS START?
The preference process for secondary education institutions within the scope of LGS will start on Monday, July 13 and continue until Monday, July 27 at 5:00 PM. The placement results will be shared with the public on August 5.
