An important change has been made in the rail system projects in Istanbul. The construction and management responsibility of the Kazım Karabekir-Topağacı-Ümraniye Sports Village Rail System Line has been transferred from the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality to the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure. This decision was published in the Official Gazette on March 21, signed by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

A striking decision has been made regarding ongoing metro projects in Istanbul. According to the Official Gazette decision dated March 21; the management of certain metro and rail systems in Istanbul has been transferred from the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality to the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.

The Presidential Decision published in the Official Gazette officially approved the assumption of the Kazım Karabekir-Topağacı-Ümraniye Sports Village Rail System Line by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.

HERE IS THE DECISION PUBLISHED IN THE OFFICIAL GAZETTE

According to the decision, the Kazım Karabekir-Topağacı-Ümraniye Sports Village Rail System Line project will be undertaken by the Ministry.

This change has been updated as a sub-clause of article 3 (a) of the relevant decree.

The decision came into effect on March 20, 2025.
