The prepared indictment was accepted by the Develi Criminal Court of First Instance. In the indictment, a prison sentence of up to 21.5 years was requested for Güldane Ş. and Cuma D. for the crimes of "theft of property kept under protection in a building," "threatening with multiple people," and "intentional injury," starting from 10 years and 3 months.
'WE WILL KILL YOU' THREAT
The victim D.Ş stated in her testimony included in the indictment that she got engaged to the defendant Cuma D. last year. D.Ş claimed that after a while, a closeness began to develop between her fiancé and her mother. She noted:
"When I expressed that I would tell my father about their closeness, my mother Güldane and Cuma told me, 'You will never tell your father that we went out and that we stayed at home together. Otherwise, we will kill you.' and they beat me by hitting various parts of my body. There were constant arguments between us in this way."
THEY STOLE THE GOLD IN THE HOUSE
D.Ş stated that the gold accumulated by her father T.Ş was in the wardrobe in the bedroom, saying, "After my mother Güldane left the house, when we checked the wardrobe where the gold was kept, it was messy and the gold was missing. I am a complainant against Güldane and Cuma, who committed acts against me."
The complainant T.Ş. (52) stated that he could not find 14 full gold coins, 1 bracelet, 19,500 dollars, and 35,000 lira in the place where he hid them, and he reported it to the police, adding that he was also a complainant against the 2 defendants due to the incident. The indictment stated that the total value of the items claimed to be stolen in the damage assessment report was 1 million 226 thousand 900 lira. The defendants Güldane Ş. and Cuma D. denied the allegations.
