In Antalya, in March, M.Y., a district national education officer who spread terror with two pistols in the Kepez District Governor's building, was given the penalties of salary deduction and suspension of grade progression as a result of an administrative investigation and was assigned to Tunceli.

M.Y., a Ministry of National Education staff member who opened fire with a gun at the Kepez District Governor's Office in Antalya, was given a salary deduction penalty and assigned to Tunceli. The administrative sanctions against M.Y., whose grade progression was also halted, could not be served because he continuously obtained health reports.

The incident occurred on March 16 at the Kepez District Governor's Office building. M.Y., a clerk at the Kepez District Directorate of National Education located in the governor's office building, arrived at his workplace with two guns. Around 11:00 AM, M.Y. went out to the corridor and began firing randomly. As employees and those in the building were evacuated upon hearing the gunshots, M.Y. locked himself in a room.

Upon a report made to the 112 Emergency Call Center, numerous police teams were dispatched to the scene. Expert police teams arriving at the governor's office building persuaded M.Y., who said he would commit suicide, to surrender after approximately 4.5 hours. M.Y. was taken into custody and brought to the police station, where judicial and administrative proceedings were initiated against him.

Meanwhile, footage of the moments when M.Y. fired a gun inside the governor's office building emerged. In the images, M.Y., holding two guns in both hands, is seen walking down the corridor, warning people to leave, and then firing several times. In a video M.Y. shared on social media before the incident, he complained about alleged mobbing directed at him.

The investigation against M.Y. was completed 5 months later, and he was given a halt of grade progression and a salary deduction penalty, and was assigned to the Ovacık district of Tunceli. However, since M.Y. obtained reports by declaring he had health problems and did not come to work, his new assignment and the penalties imposed could not be served to him.

M.Y., who kept extending his report and came to the governor's office building to submit his petition, allegedly argued with police officers on duty at the building on his last visit. The police officers, stating that Ö.Ç., who works at the same institution, had obtained a restraining order against him, did not want to let M.Y. inside. Thereupon, M.Y. left the building.
