A person experiencing a nervous breakdown at home in Konya repeatedly stabbed a police officer present at the scene in the back during the intervention of health teams. The assailant was neutralized by the police officers who shot him. The incident was captured on security cameras.
Emre Köroğlu (29), who attacked police officer Mustafa Topuz (28) with a knife, injuring him in 7 places, was captured after being shot with a gun. He was discharged after treatment. It was revealed that Köroğlu had been arrested for 'drug use' 10 days before the incident and was released. Police officer Topuz was also discharged today after his treatment.

The incident occurred on October 13 at around 10:30 AM in Bayramoğlu Street, Buhara Neighborhood, Selçuklu district. Police and medical teams were dispatched to a house where it was reported that someone was having a nervous breakdown. While the teams were waiting for the door to be opened at N.K.'s house, Emre Köroğlu, who was allegedly having a nervous breakdown, attacked with a knife. In the attack, single police officer Mustafa Topuz, who has been on the force for 3 years, was injured with 7 stab wounds to his back.

Topuz and another police officer drew their guns and neutralized the attacker. Injured police officer Topuz was taken to Meram Medical Faculty Hospital by ambulance, while the attacker was taken to Konya City Hospital. The incident was captured on security cameras. Police officer Mehmet Topuz, who underwent surgery, was discharged today after his treatment. Suspect Emre Köroğlu was taken to the police station after his treatment. Köroğlu was brought to the courthouse today after his procedures at the police station.
INVOLVED IN CRIME 10 DAYS AGO
It was revealed that Emre Köroğlu, who has a record of 33 crimes, was arrested for 'drug use' 10 days before the incident and was released. It was learned that Köroğlu has faced legal action 6 times for the same crime, 5 of which were this year. Some of Köroğlu's criminal records are as follows:
4 times for 'Robbery', 3 times this year for 'Intentional injury', 4 times this year for 'Theft from a house and vehicle', and other crimes including 'Endangering traffic safety', 'Endangering public safety', 'Damaging property', 'Violation of the firearms law', and 'Abuse of trust'. It was also determined that Emre Köroğlu was arrested twice for some of the crimes he was involved in and was released after spending some time in prison.
