After a dispute between two groups in the Şirvan district of Siirt, village headman opened fire, resulting in the death of Sebahattin Batu. An investigation has been initiated regarding the incident, and the headman has been taken into custody.
In the Şirvan district of Siirt, in an armed conflict between two groups, village headman Ahmet B. shot Sebahattin Batu (50) with a long-barreled weapon, resulting in Batu's death. The incident occurred yesterday evening in the village of Elmadalı, which is part of the district. A dispute arose between the two groups for an unknown reason, which escalated into an armed fight. Village headman Ahmet B. fired at Sabahattin Batu with a long-barreled weapon.
HEADMAN IN CUSTODY
While Batu was seriously injured, health and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the scene upon notification. After the initial intervention, Batu was taken to Siirt Training and Research Hospital, but despite all the doctors' efforts, he could not be saved. While Batu's body was taken to the hospital morgue for autopsy, headman Ahmet B. was taken into custody.
An investigation has been initiated regarding the incident.
