The statement of Duran Aydın, who was arrested for vandalizing the grave of Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi in Istanbul, has emerged. Aydın said, "I was angered by the murder of a small child. In that moment of anger, I lost control. I did not receive any instructions or money from anyone to carry out this act. I also do not know the individuals who killed the deceased."
The 15-year-old Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi, who lost his life in a knife attack in the Kadıköy district of Istanbul, had his grave in Bahçelievler vandalized, and damage was caused to the surrounding area. While the investigation initiated ex officio regarding the desecration of the grave in the cemetery continues, a special team has been formed at the Istanbul Police Department to capture the perpetrators.

Police teams captured the suspect named Duran Aydın, who vandalized Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi's grave. The suspect Duran Aydın was arrested by the Peace Criminal Court on the request for arrest after giving his statement to the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office for the crime of 'damaging places of worship and cemeteries' and was sent to prison. "I LOST CONTROL IN THAT MOMENT OF ANGER"
In his statement, the suspect Duran Aydın said, "I am staying on the grass under the Nurettin Bayraktar bridge near the cemetery. The place I stay is close to the grave of the deceased. I make my living by collecting beverage cans and doing scrap work. On the day of the incident, I entered the cemetery to collect cans. It was nighttime. I don't remember what time it was. I learned from the newspaper and the news that the grave of the deceased was there. I wanted to look at the grave. After that, I got angry about the murder of a small child. In that moment of anger, I lost control. Then I pulled the flowers from the grave. I lifted and threw the fences. I don't know why I did this. I acted out of anger at that moment. I don't really remember much about the incident," he said.
"I DID NOT RECEIVE ANY INSTRUCTIONS OR MONEY FROM ANYONE"
In the continuation of his statement, the suspect Duran Aydın said, "I did not receive any instructions or money from anyone to carry out this act. I also do not know the people who killed the deceased." When asked, "Did you have any knowledge that the trial regarding the murder of the deceased would take place on the day you committed the act?" he replied, "I had no knowledge that there would be a trial. I only know from newspaper reports that the deceased was killed and that his grave was there. I have no other information."
