SECOND TRIAL IN THE NARIN GÜRAN MURDER CASE HAS STARTED The trial, which was opened with a request for prison sentences ranging from six months to five years for the defendants Birsen, Fuat, and Maşallah Güran, Mehmet Selim Atasoy, Mehmet Şevket Kaya, and Muhammed Kaya, who are detained, as well as the non-detained defendants Şeyma Kaya, Hediye Güran, İbrahim Halil Güran, Barış Güran, Kurtuluş Güran, and Ömer Faruk Güran, along with the minors R.A. (16), M.G. (16), and İ.K. (17) for the crime of "aiding a criminal," was held at the Diyarbakır 17th Criminal Court of First Instance. MOTHER, BROTHER, AND UNCLE SENTENCED TO AGGRAVATED LIFE IMPRISONMENT The investigation conducted by the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding mother Yüksel, brother Enes, uncle Salim Güran, and Nevzat Bahtiyar has been completed, and the indictment prepared against the 4 defendants for "intentional murder of a child in complicity" requesting aggravated life imprisonment was accepted by the Diyarbakır 8th High Criminal Court on October 23, 2024.
The trial of the defendants began on November 7, 2024, and during the hearing on December 28, 2024, the court panel decided to sentence the detained defendants Yüksel, Enes, and Salim Güran to aggravated life imprisonment for "intentional murder of a child in complicity," while Nevzat Bahtiyar, who confessed to hiding Narin's lifeless body in the Eğertutmaz Stream, was sentenced to 4 years and 6 months in prison for "destroying, concealing, or altering evidence of a crime," and their detention status was ordered to continue.
