The iPhone Duo, which Apple has put on sale with prices starting at 230,000 lira, is on the agenda with complaints of screen cracking. In Turkey, while a woman applied to an Apple store in a shopping mall because of a problem she experienced with her phone's screen, according to what her husband relayed, the staff first said they would help, and then a senior manager assessed the damage as user error. After what happened, the user, who stated that she is afraid to use her phone, is waiting for a solution to the problem.

Complaints about screen cracking continue regarding the iPhone Duo, which Apple put on sale in Turkey on October 23. After some users abroad claimed that their screens cracked only a few hours after purchasing the device, a similar complaint also came from Turkey.

THE WOMAN WHOSE SCREEN CRACKED WENT TO THE STORE

A user recounted that their spouse experienced a cracking problem on the screen of the iPhone Duo and applied to the brand's store in a shopping mall in order to find a solution.

Explaining what happened, the user stated that store employees initially said they were aware of the problem and would help.

The user relayed the first response they received with the words, "They said, 'Yes, we saw in the media that such an error can happen, we will help.'"

"SENIOR EXECUTIVE CALLED IT USER ERROR"

However, according to the user's account, a different assessment was made later in the meeting at the store.

Stating that a senior executive described the screen cracking as user error, the user reacted to the situation they experienced.

The user used the statements, "A senior executive, on the other hand, said, 'No, this is user error.'"

Also expressing concern about the fate of the phone, the user described their unease with the words, "I hope we find a solution. I am afraid to use my phone."

It is not yet known what action Apple will take regarding the device in question.

SOME PHONES' SCREENS CRACKED WITHIN HOURS

Complaints about the foldable screen of the iPhone Duo had previously come from users abroad as well.

A user had claimed that their screen broke about six hours after purchasing their phone. Stating that they opened and closed the device fewer than 20 times during this period, the user recounted that while showing their phone to a friend, they felt something under the screen in the hinge area.

Saying that they heard a cracking sound when they continued to open the device, the user claimed that the screen broke along the fold line.

THERE ARE ALSO COMPLAINTS ABOUT DISPLAY UNITS IN STORES

It was also alleged that the screen cracking claims were not limited to purchased phones.

While it was claimed that similar damage occurred on the screens of display products exhibited in some stores, it was stated that users from different countries, including China and Australia, encountered the same problem.

On the other hand, some users reported that after applying to Apple's official stores, their damaged devices were replaced with new ones under warranty.

However, it has not yet become clear whether the screen cracks are caused by a manufacturing defect or by other factors that arise during use. There is also no verified data on how many devices the problem has been seen in.

THE PRICE OF IPHONE DUO GOES UP TO 335 THOUSAND LIRA

The entry model of the iPhone Duo, which went on sale in Turkey on October 23, 2026, with 256 GB of storage, went on sale for 229,999 lira.

The device's 512 GB model was offered for sale with a price tag of 246,999 lira, the 1 TB model for 280,999 lira, and the 2 TB model for 335,999 lira.

The fact that the phone, which draws attention with its high price, came to the agenda with screen cracking complaints shortly after going on sale also brought with it users' questions about warranty and replacement processes.
